Dessiner votre première salle

This is an empty plan. Let’s create a room to fill the void space.

1. In the Construction menu, click the ‘draw room’ icon (leftmost).
   
2. Click anywhere on the grid to create your room’s first corner, then anywhere else to complete the room. Your room will appear.
   

Feel free to play around with your new room. You can drag the corners to create skewed angles, drag the walls themselves, or even split walls for more complex shapes.

Dessiner votre seconde salle

Having drawn your first room, adding a second room is just as easy.

1. Again, click the ‘draw room’ icon in the Construction menu (leftmost).
   
2. Click on a corner of your first room, then anywhere else to complete the room. The second room will appear
   

Notice how the rooms interact. You can drag their corners and walls around.

Editer les murs

The black lines represent walls. Click on a wall and a menu will appear with functions to split, delete or change the thickness of the wall.

1. By splitting and dragging walls creatively, more complex shapes like bay windows and curved walls can be created. You can split more swiftly by holding the CTRL-key over a wall and click where you want a corner.
   
   

Supprimer les murs et fermer les pièces

Note that by deleting a wall the floor of a room may get detached from the walls and become a seperate surface. Press Del (PC) or Backspace (Mac) to delete a selected surface.

Dragging walls to corners (white dots) connects them together. If a connection results in an enclosed space, a new room surface appears.

Voir votre plan en 3D

You may want to add a garden to your house, or another surface without walls.

1. Click ‘draw surface’. (Second icon in the Construction menu.)
   
2. Click anywhere on the grid to begin the surface. Place corners of your surface and close it by clicking the starting point or pressing Esc. Note that points will snap to corners of walls or surfaces.
   

These surfaces can be edited after selecting them. You can curve, drag or split edges (rightclick above an edge to split). Also you can change the name, texture and color of a surface after clicking on .

Félicitations

You can drag the entire surface, a line a corner or curve an edge. Dragging the grey corners on top of its neighbour makes the edge in between disappear. Right-clicking gives an option menu that lets you duplicate or mirror a surface, or arrange the order of surfaces.

Adding furniture to your rooms

Let’s add some atmosphere to the room by adding furniture.

In the Library menu, select your preferred furniture category. Furniture pieces appear in the library window.
Find a piece of furniture you like, then drag and drop it into a room.

Locking and grouping elements

Locking elements makes it possible to prevent elements from further undesirable or accidental changes. You can always unlock elements with (double-click locked furniture for the property menu).

Selecting elements while holding the Shift-key creates temporary groups. They can help you swiftly change properties for many items at the same time.

Drawing lines

With the line tool you can create single walls, hedges, fences, etc. Also you can add dimensions where auto-dimensions are not sufficient, or various types of lines. Click the third icon in the Construction menu.

Click in your drawing to start a line.
Lines will appear after each click until you press Esc.

After you finished the first line click the line and click to change the properties.
The next lines you draw will have the same properties.

Units, Grid and other 2D options

Make sure you work in the right units (click meters or feet in the topright corner).

You can toggle grid, dimensions and other options in your drawing in the menu under 2D.

View your floor plan in 3D

You can make your floorplan come to life by viewing it in 3D.

Click the 3D-button.

Click and hold, then drag your mouse to rotate the view.

Congratulations

You’ve completed your first floor-plan. Click on the top-left floppy disk icon to save it.
